Company background

TOO WELD (Limited Liability Partnership) was established in February 1992 on the basis of the Laboratory of Materials Reliability and Durability of Mining and Metallurgical Institute (Magnitogorsk) named after G.I. Nosov. At that time the laboratory was led by Konstantin I. Eremin, a candidate of engineering sciences, Assistant Professor of Building Structures Department. Newly established company chose engineering services (design, inspection and construction) as its main area of activity.

In 1993 the company decided to develop a new line of commercial activity – retail sales of fuel and lubricants and started construction of gas stations network in Magnitogorsk and nearby territories.

In 1995 another non-core asset - bakery shop - has been acquired, and later sold out to commercial entity.

In 1997, upon adoption of Federal Law No. 116 “On Industrial Safety of Hazardous Production Facilities” dated July 21, 1997 and establishment of Federal Authority for Supervision of Hazardous Production Facilities - GosGorTekhNadzor (later ROSTEKHNADZOR) our company has obtained its first licenses for said activivties. Company’s interest has been extended to include supervision of metallurgical, ore mining, chemical, petrochemical and oil processing industries as well as boiler and lifting faciltites inspection. Later licenses have been obtained for supervision of gas distribution and consumption, vegetation raw materials storage and processing facilities as well as oil and gas production facilities and major pipelines.

In 1998 TOO WELD was restructured into OOO WELD.

In 2001 the Company decided to give up one of its commercial activities (retail sales of fuel and lubricants) and sold out their gas stations network and storage depot in Magnitogorsk.

In 2001 the Company moved to the new office at the following address: 24, Uralskaya street, Magnitogorsk, where it is located at present.

In the course of 2003 restructuring WELD Construction Complex, a new Company division, has been established. Its main area of activity is construction, reconstruction and repairs of industrial and civil engineering facilities.

In 2004 a representative office was opened in Chelyabinsk.

In 2006 an Appraisal Department has been established. Our company has confirmed itself as a company-appraiser by joining the self-governing organization “RF Appraisal Masters Association”.

In 2006 Ural representative office was opened in Ekaterinburg for the convenience of our clients and was later renamed into WELD representative office in Ekaterinburg.

In 2006 a Research and Development Institute named ANO “RDI “Industrial Safety” was established on the Company basis. The Institute performs scientific research and studies aimed on prevention of failures and industrial incidents as its main area of activity.

In 2007 the Company confirmed its international status by passing an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification.
Certificate of compliance with international standards was handed over by representatives of German TUV CERT agency.

In 2007 WELD representative office was opened in Moscow downtown – at Kutuzovskiy avenue.

In 2007 the Company has extended the scope of services provided within the area of prevention of failures and safe operation of buildings, structures and technical equipment. Since then WELD specialists perform activities on architectural and cultural heritage objects.

In 2007 a new area of activity, energy audit, was developed. That year the company was listed among 9 entities accredited by Ministry of Power (MinEnergo).

In 2009 WELD company has confirmed its transnational status by opening a European representative office in Tivat, Montenegro.

In 2009 WELD company founded a self-governing institution for design activities with its office in Chelyabinsk. Our company has been among the first to have taken measures aimed at arranging an association of engineering companies due to planned abolishment of mandatory Gosstroy licenses for design activities.

In 2009 the Company patented and registered the right for publishing an "Electronic Passport of Buildings and Structures" software. This software was the first of those software complexes planned for publishing and developed to ensure efficient process risk management at industrial facilities of any type.
